Jerry Colangelo Enters Phoenix Suns Ring of Honor

A Lifetime of Dedication Honored

55-27 Finished 3rd in NBA Pacific Division

The Phoenix Suns have honored Jerry Colangelo, their former owner and general manager, by inducting him into the team's Ring of Honor. Colangelo, who spent 33 years with the Suns, is widely regarded as one of the most successful and influential figures in NBA history. Under his leadership, the Suns won two NBA championships (1988, 1993) and reached the NBA Finals four other times (1990, 1991, 1994, 2010).

Colangelo's impact on the Suns goes beyond the team's on-court success. He was instrumental in the development of the team's home arena, the Footprint Center, and he played a key role in bringing the NBA All-Star Game to Phoenix in 1995. Colangelo was also a driving force behind the creation of the NBA's salary cap, which has helped to level the playing field for teams across the league.

In addition to his accomplishments with the Suns, Colangelo has also served as the chairman of the USA Basketball Men's National Team since 2005. Under his leadership, the team has won three Olympic gold medals (2008, 2012, 2016) and a bronze medal (2004). Colangelo was also inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2004.

The Suns' Ring of Honor is a prestigious club that includes some of the greatest players and contributors in team history. Colangelo is a deserving member of this elite group, and his induction is a fitting tribute to his lifetime of dedication to the Phoenix Suns.
